Complaints about an electricity licensee

The Electricity Regulatory Authority takes complaints about the licensees it regulates — Bhutan Power Corporation, the generating companies, and everyone else holding an electricity licence. You do not need an account.

Complainant

One of the two is enough. Without either, ERA has no way to tell you what came of this.

Respondent (The party against whom the complaint is filed)
Describe the issue in one line
When it happened
General Requirement
1. Have you reached out to the party before submitting the complaint to ERA? Please tick the box.

Section 18 requires it: ERA takes a dispute only where they did not respond within 7 days, or did not settle it within a month.

Section 21(4) — ERA cannot take a matter already pending elsewhere.

4. Evidence Supporting the Complaint: Tick the type(s) of evidence submitted:
Accepted: .pdf,.jpg,.jpeg,.png,.doc,.docx,.mp4,.mov

Ticking a type says what exists; attaching it puts it on the case file.

Take up the matter with the licensee first where you can — ERA looks at what they did about it. Keep the reference you are given: with the email or phone you leave, it is how you check what is happening.
